Queenslanders are being urged to declare their love for women and unborn children at risk from a new abortion bill by attending the Brisbane March for Life on Saturday, September 1, from 2pm.
Tens of thousands of people are expected to march from Queen’s Gardens, 144 George Street, to Parliament House for a rally.
Marchers are asked to wear white. Signs will be provided.
This year’s march coincides with a new bill introduced to State Parliament seeking to allow abortion-on-demand to 22 weeks and thereafter to term, with the approval of a second doctor who isn’t even required to meet the patient.
There are no provisions for informed consent, independent counselling or cooling-off periods.
Women of any age can request an abortion for social, psychological, physical or financial reasons.
